Imran Khan's arrest causes uproar among his supporters

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi expressed concern over the safety of former prime minister Imran Khan, following his arrest by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

Mr Qureshi took to Twitter to voice his concern, stating that government had no right to threaten the life of their party chairman, Imran Khan. Mr Qureshi added that their leader was in the custody of those who were threatening him.

The PTI leader further added that until yesterday, the army was not available for the elections but had suddenly been deployed in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Mr Qureshi expressed his disbelief, stating that the nation was unaware of the reasons behind the sudden deployment of the army.

The arrest of Imran Khan, who served as prime minister from 2018 to 2021, has caused uproar among his supporters who claim that the charges against him are politically motivated.
